Costs and hauls
Quick answer
Open Listings → Costs to enter what you paid for each item, or choose New haul to split one purchase total across several items by Equal split, Weighted by price or Manual. Insights uses these costs to calculate profit.
How do I record stock costs and hauls?
Open Listings → Costs:
- Items: enter a cost for each item.
- Hauls: record one purchase that covers several items. Choose New haul, then check the name, total cost and selected items.
A haul splits its total by Equal split, Weighted by price or Manual. With Manual, you enter each item's share yourself.
Can I change the cost of an item that has sold?
A sold item's cost is frozen at the time of sale. When you change a haul that includes sold items, Shopfront asks you to review them: apply the new share or keep the current cost. If you delete a haul, its items keep their costs.
Costs complete your profit figures
Insights calculates profit from recorded costs and fees, so items without a cost leave profit incomplete.
Marketplace shipping
Set shipping in the Shipping section of a product's marketplace tab before listing: eBay uses your account's Shipping, Return and Payment policies, Depop has National Shipping and International costs, and Grailed has a cost for each region.
