Quick answer
A product is the item you manage in Shopfront; a listing is that product's publication on one marketplace, with its own channel data and status. One product can have a listing on each connected channel.
What is the difference between a product and a listing?
| Term | Meaning in Shopfront |
|---|---|
| Product | The item record with shared data such as photos, title and price. |
| Listing | The product's publication on one marketplace, with its own channel data and status. |
| Channel | A marketplace integration, such as eBay or Depop. |
| Connection | The marketplace account connected to your workspace. |
| Workflow | A group of products that moves through review, listing and completion stages. |
| Template | Writing instructions and example text used when Shopfront generates a listing. |
| Under Review | The workflow stage for products that still need review. |
| Imported record | A marketplace listing in Imports that has not yet been turned into a Shopfront product. |
Why does the difference matter?
Each listing has its own channel data and status, so review each marketplace tab after you edit a product's shared details. A listing can fail on one channel and succeed on another, so check the status for each channel.
Active Products limit
The Active Products limit counts products, not listings.

What is Shopfront?
Shopfront prepares product listings from photos and helps you list, delist and track them on eBay, Shopify, Depop, Grailed, Vestiaire Collective and Facebook Marketplace. You review drafts in workflows, edit each channel's data and choose when to list.
Quick start
Sign up, connect a marketplace in Settings → Marketplaces → Channels, then choose Create, add photos and select Generate. Review the drafts in the workflow before listing; generating a draft does not publish it.
