Connect Facebook Marketplace

Quick answer

Facebook Marketplace listings are created and removed by the Shopfront extension in desktop Chrome, so keep the latest version installed and enabled for every list and delist. Facebook listings cannot be scheduled or imported, and you record Facebook sales with Mark as → Sold.

How do I connect Facebook Marketplace?

Install the extension. Install the latest version of the Shopfront extension in desktop Chrome.

Sign in to Facebook. Sign in to Facebook in the same browser.

Open the Channels page. Open Settings → Marketplaces → Channels and select Connect on Facebook.

If the Facebook card shows Install, install the extension before you connect.

Why does Facebook need the extension for every listing?

Shopfront cannot list on Facebook Marketplace directly. The extension carries out each list and delist in your signed-in Chrome browser.

Keep Chrome open with the extension enabled

Keep Chrome open with the extension enabled. An extension installed on another device does not enable Facebook actions in the browser you are using.

If the extension is missing, Shopfront shows Install in place of the Facebook listing control. If it is out of date, Shopfront shows Update the Shopfront extension. See what to do when the extension is not detected.

How do I remove a Facebook listing?

Use the product's Delist action while the extension is available, then check the Facebook status on the product. Delisting removes the Facebook listing; it does not record a sale.

Can I schedule, import or track sales on Facebook?

  • Scheduling: Facebook listings cannot be scheduled. List to Facebook directly instead.
  • Imports: Facebook is not available in Imports.
  • Sales: Shopfront does not check Facebook for sales. When an item sells on Facebook, use the product's Mark as → Sold action and check whether your other channels still need delisting.
  • Offers: Facebook offers do not appear in Offers.

What should I check before listing?

Facebook titles are limited to 99 characters, and Shopfront shortens longer titles. Descriptions use plain text. Review the photos, category, attributes and price before listing.
