Channel disconnected
Quick answer
A disconnected channel shows Reconnect required in Settings → Marketplaces → Channels, and its listings and order sync pause until you select Reconnect. eBay refreshes the connection or sends you to eBay to authorise again, Shopify asks for its Client ID and Client Secret again, and Depop, Grailed, Vestiaire Collective and Facebook reconnect through the Shopfront extension.
How do I know a channel is disconnected?
Shopfront shows it in three places:
- Settings → Marketplaces → Channels: the channel's card shows a Reconnect required badge and the line "Session expired — order syncing is paused" with a Reconnect button. The connection icon's tooltip reads "Connection issue - click to check".
- Dashboard banner: "Marketplace connection expired", with the message "Listings and order sync are paused until you reconnect." and a Reconnect button.
- Email: under Connection notifications, turn on Email alerts to get an email when a marketplace stays disconnected for 3 hours.
A listing that failed for the same reason shows the AUTH_EXPIRED badge in its Listing Error dialog.
How do I reconnect?
Select Reconnect on the channel's card. What happens next depends on the channel.
| Channel | What Reconnect does |
|---|---|
| eBay | Shopfront refreshes the connection. If eBay needs you to sign in again, you see "Re-authentication Required" and Shopfront sends you to eBay to authorise. |
| Shopify | Opens the connection form. Enter Store Domain, Client ID and Client Secret, select Test Connection, then Save Connection. This updates the existing connection, including its listings. |
| Depop | Opens Depop, where the Shopfront extension reads your signed-in account. Confirm the Depop account Shopfront shows. Only owners and admins can connect Depop. |
| Grailed | Opens Grailed, where the Shopfront extension reads your signed-in account. |
| Vestiaire Collective | Opens Vestiaire Collective, where the Shopfront extension reads your signed-in account. |
| Facebook Marketplace | Opens Facebook, where the Shopfront extension reads your signed-in account. |
Before you reconnect an extension channel
Before reconnecting Depop, Grailed, Vestiaire Collective or Facebook, sign in to the marketplace account you want in desktop Chrome with the extension enabled. If Shopfront asks you to install the extension, see Extension not detected.
To test a connection without reconnecting, select the connection icon. Its tooltip changes to "Connection healthy" when the check passes.
What should I check after reconnecting?
- Retry any listing that failed with
AUTH_EXPIREDfrom its Listing Error dialog. See Listing failed. - For Shopify, read the Test Connection result. "Listing-only mode" means the
read_ordersscope wasn't granted, so Shopify sales tracking and cross-channel delisting are off. Addread_ordersto the app in Shopify and reconnect. See Connect Shopify. - If the dashboard shows "Confirm your Depop account", select Review connection and reconnect Depop to confirm which account receives your listings.
Extension not detected
The Shopfront extension runs in desktop Chrome and is installed from the Chrome Web Store. Enable it at chrome://extensions or update it to the latest version, refresh Shopfront and select Check again; Depop and Grailed need it to connect, and Facebook Marketplace needs it for every list and delist.
Sale not detected
Enable Sales Detection checks eBay, Depop, Grailed and Vestiaire Collective for sales at your plan's interval, from every 12 hours on Free to every 10 minutes on Premium Plus. Shopify sales arrive by webhook only when the connection has the read_orders scope, and Facebook Marketplace sales must be recorded with Mark as → Sold.
