AI agents and MCP
Quick answer
Add https://shopfront.app/api/mcp as a remote MCP server in a client that supports Streamable HTTP; no workspace token or API key is needed. Its read-only tools search this documentation and read public shop and pricing information, but cannot see your private inventory or change listings.
How do I connect an agent?
Add https://shopfront.app/api/mcp as a remote MCP server in a client that supports Streamable HTTP. The endpoint does not need a workspace token or API key.
Which tools does it provide?
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
search_docs | Matching pages from this documentation |
search_shops | Published seller shops that match a name, handle or subtitle |
get_shop_summary | A published shop's name, bio and count of available items |
search_shop_products | Available products in one published shop |
get_shop_product | Public details of one product in a published shop |
get_pricing | Current Shopfront plan pricing |
How does search_docs work?
search_docs returns up to 10 pages, each with its title, description and URL. It does not return the page body, so open the URL for the full guide.
It matches your whole query as one case-insensitive phrase, not each word separately. Use a short phrase that appears in the guide, such as connect Depop or sales detection.
Can this connection see or change my listings?
No. The public tools read only published documentation, public shop pages and pricing. They cannot read your private workspace inventory or change products. Use an API key for access to your own workspace.
Chrome extension
Install the Shopfront extension from the Chrome Web Store in Chrome on a computer to connect Depop, Grailed and Vestiaire Collective from Settings → Marketplaces → Channels. Facebook Marketplace needs it for every list and delist; eBay and Shopify do not use it.
Workflows
Open Listings → Workflows to move products through four stages, Under Review, Ready to List, Listed and Completed, and to list, schedule, delist or mark them sold. Completed holds sold, shipped, completed and ended products; delisted products return to Ready to List.
