Troubleshooting

Import stuck or duplicated

Quick answer

An import keeps running after you close the page, and Shopfront refuses a second import of a marketplace while one is running. If duplicate checking pauses, Shopfront retries it automatically; possible duplicates wait in Imports → Needs review until you combine them, keep them separate or choose which copy to keep.

Why does my import look stuck?

Open Imports. The progress card shows three stages: Importing your listings, Checking for duplicates and Ready to create workflows. What to do depends on the message under the bar.

MessageWhat to do
"Still bringing your listings across." or "You can close this page — we'll keep going."Nothing. The import is running.
"Duplicate checking paused before every listing was examined. We'll retry automatically — nothing already checked is lost."Nothing. Don't start another import.
"N possible duplicates to review before those listings can be crosslisted."Review them in Needs review. See below.

Listings without photos can't go through the duplicate check, so the card counts them separately, for example "12 have no photos".

Why can't I start another import?

Shopfront runs one import per marketplace at a time. In Import listings, a marketplace that's already importing shows "Syncing…" and its button is unavailable. If you try anyway, Shopfront shows "An import is already in progress for this marketplace". Wait for the current import to finish.

If a marketplace's row shows "Last sync failed" or another error, fix the cause, such as a disconnected channel, then select Sync (or Import for a first import) to run it again. See Channel disconnected.

How do I resolve possible duplicates?

Open Imports → Needs review. Shopfront flags listings that look like the same item on more than one marketplace, and the same item listed twice on one marketplace. Flagged listings stay out of crosslisting until you decide.

  • Combine records the listings as one item.
  • Keep separate records them as different items.
  • Keep… appears when one marketplace has several copies of the same item. Choose the copy to keep; the other copies are retired from crosslisting.

Combine only the same physical item

Compare photos, price and listed date before you choose, and combine only listings for the same physical item.
