Image enhancement
Quick answer
When you create listings, the Hero Image options can remove the main photo's background to plain white, enhance its lighting and clarity, or both. Enhancement is instructed to keep the item's colours, texture, logos and shape; check each processed photo before listing.
How do I turn on image processing?
Choose Create.
Open the Hero Image options. Open Settings in the upload window, then Hero Image.
Tick the options you want. Tick Remove Background, Enhance Image or both. These options process each item's main product photo.
What does Enhance Image change?
Enhancement evens out the lighting, gently sharpens the product and removes hangers, mannequins or props holding it. It is instructed not to change the item's colours, texture, pattern, logos, text, stitching or shape, and not to add anything. With Enhance Image on its own, the original background stays.
What does Remove Background do?
It replaces the background with plain white. With both options on, you get an enhanced photo on a white background.
How do I check the result?
Open the product's photos and use the Original switch to compare the processed photo with your original. Check edges, colours, text, patterns and visible wear. See Product photos.
How many photos can I process?
Background removals and enhancements have separate monthly allowances. The Free plan includes 5 of each per month; see Billing and usage limits for other plans.
