Teams & Permissions
Invite your team, assign roles, and manage access. All data is isolated per organisation.
Shopfront supports multiple team members with role-based access control. Invite your team, assign permissions, and keep everyone's work organised.
Roles
| Role | What They Can Do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access. Manage billing, team members, and all settings. |
| Admin | Create, edit, and delete listings. Manage team members. |
| Member | Create and edit listings. Cannot manage team or billing. |
| Viewer | Read-only access. Can view listings and reports but not make changes. |
Inviting Team Members
- Go to Settings → Team
- Click Invite Member
- Share the invitation link with your team member
- They accept the invite and are added with the role you specified
You can change roles or remove members at any time from the Team settings page.
Organisations
Each Shopfront account can belong to multiple organisations. This is useful if you manage inventory for different businesses or clients.
- Switch between organisations from the sidebar
- Data is fully isolated — each organisation has its own products, listings, orders, and settings
- Billing is per-organisation — each org has its own plan and usage
When you switch organisations, all data in your dashboard updates immediately. Real-time subscriptions are reset to ensure you only see data from the active organisation.
Team member limits depend on your plan: Pro supports up to 10 members, Premium up to 25, and Enterprise is unlimited.
Permissions at a Glance
Permissions are enforced at both the application and database level. Row-level security ensures that even if a request bypasses application logic, users can only access data belonging to their organisation.
Owners and Admins can create, edit, and delete. Members can create and edit. Viewers can only read.
